The first Heart of Yorkshire pre-ride!

On Sunday 5th Feb 2017 we launched the first of what is hoped to be a bi-monthly social pre-ride for The Heart of Yorkshire 2017!

All riders met on the outskirts of York for a ride of approx 40km with a coffee and cake stop.

After an initial brief the riders set off and managed to negotiate the A19 Clifton roundabout which then saw them on their way.

The ride was led by Paul Smith with assistance from Leigh Necrews, Clare and Stan Bamforth and Iain Findlay from Pain Free
Power.

The route took cyclists through picturesque country lanes around the small villages and towns of Overton, Shipton by Beningbrough and Tollerton. After a brief re-group in Tollerton, the ride turned west towards the town of Aldwark and then passed Linton on Ouse, arriving for a well earned coffee at the Farm Shop in the grounds of Beningbrough Hall.
After the break the ride then took the cyclist back to York via Overton and a sprint down the last mile of the A19.

The weather was cold but the rain held off and for brief periods there were shadows on the road.

The next ride for those signed up to the Heart Of Yorkshire 2017 will take place at Wetherby on Sunday 26th February. We hope to see you there!
