The Heart of Yorkshire is a beautiful route, at just over 100km designed so that riders of all abilities can enjoy.
Starting at the First Direct Arena, Leeds, heading north east through the picturesque Roundhay Park and on to Shadwell, where you will leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind.
Once you hit the countryside, you will pass by numerous traditional Yorkshire towns and villages before reaching Wetherby, a historic market town that stands on the River Wharfe. Here you will be able to stop off at a couple of coaching inns for a well-deserved break or just to use the facilities.
The ride will then pass Wetherby racecourse and meander through Bickerton before arriving at the geographical heart of Yorkshire, Hessay. Although a quick turn-around point, you will now be half way and heading south west back to the vibrant Leeds City Centre.
Next up on the ride is Rufforth, our main stop on the route, where you and other riders will be able to stop off, grab a cake and coffee, network and have a much deserved feet up in the sun.
Once rested, the last leg of the route will see you pass through Boston Spa where again, you will be able to stop off for the last time to use the facilities before returning to the First Direct Arena, entering back into the city through Barwick in Elmet.
